T-minus 6 Days

It's been a while since I posted here, mostly because nothing has happened that is worth sharing with people. Well, at least nothing France related. Now that we are less than a week from moving I thought it should be noted for the world to see on the world wide superhighway. Angela and I are moving in 6 days. We leave DFW on January 6th, land in Geneva on the 7th, and drive to Lyon that day. We're both very excited, and I can't speak for Angela, but I'm freakin' nervous. I've never lived in another country, and this move has just descended upon me very quickly. It seems like everything has come together quite fast. When this idea of studying French for my degree was first hatched by my then Ph.D. advisory committee (read Mathieu Turgeon) 2 years, I thought it was a great idea that would be lots of fun, but I would have only given it at most a 20% chance of happening. It seems strange to me now that in only 6 days I'm moving to France. It should be a blast thought.

On a different note, my visa came on December 23 (sweet), Emma was able to get on a flight with Susan to Lyon on the 29th (double sweet), but we have to get our lives packed up in 6 days (sour or savory, whichever is the opposite of sweet). Well on that note, I should probably get to work. Happy New Year to all and we hope to see many of you in France in the coming months.
